artSPACE durban was born out of a dream to explore the concept of space, by bringing artists and creatives together in a warehouse style space. For over twelve years, artSPACE durban has opened its doors as a much-loved art gallery and event venue, hosting hundreds of exhibitions, shows and seminars and attracting people from all walks of life.

While the gallery is sad to announce that this phase of artSPACE durban is coming to an end, they are excited about their future evolution. With the vision and experience of the architects of Arkus, the space will relaunch on the 1st of March 2016 as the home of a small group of creative professionals from various fields. The name artSPACE durban will remain, as the original concept of space is re-designed, and a community of like-minded people is built. artSPACE durban studios will be a limited number of exclusive “artisan” studio spaces, incubators for creative businesses to grow. The concept of space will be redefined with the gallery as the blank canvas.

They have decided to retain the Middle Gallery and the Corridor as gallery spaces under the continued direction and supervision of Karen Bradtke with day-to-day activities under the watchful eye of Veronica Nezar.

The gallery hours are on Monday to Friday at 9am to 5pm, and Saturday and public holidays at 9am to 2pm. Keep updated with all the new activity by following www.artspace-durban.comwww.artworksartspace.blogspot.com, or by following their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/artspacedurban
