After 4 years of successfully hosting this event, The Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival launched in style at Cocoon Lounge in Sandton on Thursday night.  The line-up that everybody has been waiting for was revealed and some guest performances took place.

As anyone who has attended the festival in the past, the line-up is bigger than before; bringing you showstoppers like Thandiswa Mazwai & Nathi. Without forgetting our heritage, we have the legendary Shwi No Mtekhala and Alick Macheso amongst others.

Lesley Musina & Buhle Samules did a stellar job being MCs and excitement loomed as the festival’s chairman, Mr Shandu Nesengani took us down memory lane to where it all began and what we can expect this year; revealing the biggest line-up to date. With Phalaphala FM a partner for the 4th year, management spokesperson Sharon Ravele shared with us their vision for the Royal Heritage Festival brand, also giving an exclusive that the station is relocating to Thohoyandou, after being housed in Polokwane for some time.

Performances for the night included the super-talented Thandiswa Mazwai and gospel sensation Rofhiwa, who is also on the line-up for this year’s festival. To end off, Nathi & Vusi Nova gave us a sneak peak of what we can expect at the festival with Nomakanjani and Nathi closed off with the single that put him on the top of the charts; Nomvula.

Guests included Peter Mbelengwa from Arts & Culture and celebrities Kwesta, Tina Jaxa, Cornet Mamabolo, Khanya Mkangisa, Andile Gaelesiwe, Phila Madlingozi, the sexy Salamina Mosese and comedian Chris Mapane.

DJ Malwela got everyone on their feet, proving why we all need to head to Nandoni Dam on 10 September 2016.

With an expected turnout of 15 000-21 000 people, this music festival will bring out SA’s crème de la crème artists who will cater to every market, including artists from Venda to promote local talent. So join the festivities at Royal Gardens. Tickets are already on sale at Computicket. Take advantage of the early-bird special where you can purchase your tickets at R150 before August and thereafter they will be R180.
